Principal's welcome

Thank you for visiting our school’s website.

Our school provides your child with a rich and diverse education. We offer a balance of academic, cultural and sporting opportunities. We work in partnership with parents and students to support students in achieving their full potential.

The school first opened its doors in 1925 with an enrolment of 25 students. We are proud of our students and the wonderful things they achieve, not only while they are at our school but in their lives after school. We are especially proud of the many ex students who form part of our roll of honour.

A wide variety of curricula programs and extra-curricula opportunities are offered in our school. Curriculum offerings include mathematics, English, science, technology, health and physical education, art, Language other than English (LOTE) Japanese and the study of society and the environment. In 2012 we introduced the National Curriculum offerings in English, mathematics, science, history was introduced in 2013 and geography in 2014.

Extra curricula opportunities include instrumental music in strings, woodwind, brass and percussion, school choir, interschool sport, community competitions and performances, student leadership through a student council to name a few.

The range and variety of these opportunities allows our students to develop and fulfil our motto ‘Cresco - I Grow’.

Your child’s time in primary school is a special part of their development.  The interest and involvement you show as you play a role in this will greatly assist your child’s progress.

As a state school we are very proud of our achievements, our history and our students. We encourage you to contribute to these achievements and to build on our heritage through your positive involvement in school life.

We welcome you and your child to Scarborough State School and trust that your association with us will be valuable and rewarding.
